The Leungs in JUNE

June is always a busy month for us. We have lots of June birthdays in the family:
Mama Leung 6/4
Ed 6/6
Myla 6/8
Daddy Leung 6/16
Patrick 6/18

Crazy, huh? But it's very exciting. :)
And it means lots of good food, sweets, candles,
and time with loved ones.

Hi Faith!

This year, we also had a huge party for Myla at the park. It was awesome to celebrate with so many people (around 50). Gordon used a grill for the first time. He said it made him feel manly. :) Myla didn't eat much 'cause she was so excited. The only down side was that it was stinkin HOT. We went crazy on the food and had enough to feed all of Sugar Land. Still, people left well fed and happy and that makes me happy. :) Do I have pictures from the party? Of course…not. I was too distracted. I'll try to find some from friends…

my baby is 3 now…

and she just started her first dance class.

All the girls got to dress up in princess costumes and dance. I'm not sure if she picked this one or the teacher picked it for her. It sure is super lacy and blue…

The teacher played a song that told a story about these princesses and they had to dance it out. There was a part about a troll. Myla got scared and refused to join the group. Here's Miss Melissa trying to reassure and encourage her to participate.

Here's Miss Melissa changing the music. :)

Now she can dance again.

And what has my little chic been up to?

She's almost 6 months. She's sitting up better now.
She's chubby and cheery. :)
She loves to eat.
She likes meeting new friends.
And most of the time, she loves her big sis, except when big sis smothers her.

Looks like Gordon when he's tired & watching tv.

4 Months!

Charlotte is now 4 months old!

UPDATES:
Charlotte is still flipping over during her sleep, but now she'll sometimes soothe herself back asleep. Our little click beetle (see previous post) still hasn't figured out how to roll back over though.

I'm excited to start her on solids now. When Myla started solids, I remember how fun it was to make her food and see her different facial expressions when she tried them. Hopefully, this will help her sleep longer at night too.

Charlotte is usually laid back and joyful. She definitely lets you know when she's cranky though. She still gets bored easily and can't sit in one area for more than 15 mins. She also has a huge set of lungs like her big sis. I need to invest in more ear plugs. :)

Charlotte and the Very Clumsy Click Beetle

product-details.jpg

"The Very Clumsy Click Beetle" by Eric Carle is about a young clumsy click beetle who falls onto his back and gets stuck. He has not developed the skills to flip back onto his feet. But with the help of a wise old click beetle and several tries, he learned how to flip back over in the end.

Charlotte has been flipping over onto her back for over a month now. But when this happens during her sleep, she gets startled and cries, which means we have to get up and flip her back over and soothe her back to sleep. Putting up barriers hasn't worked either. She somehow she manages to scoot her way out. Often times she'll end up with her head stuck in the corner of her crib and that wakes her up too. Hope our little click beetle learns how to flip back over soon. :)

Myla's Message for the Wu's

Myla and I were looking at old pictures on the computer one morning. She saw a picture of me and Yvonne and started talking about "A-Yi" and Trinity go go. Oh, how we miss you guys!

BTW…forgot about these pics of "Uncle Gordon" and Myla bonding over technology. Fun. :)

Spring is Here!

I love Spring.
It's my favorite season. I love seeing all the life and colors in nature appear again. We've been learning a lot about how to take care of our yard. It's been exciting to see the fruits of our labor…well, Gordon's labor. :) He's been the main gardener of the house. In fact, he's become a gardening geek, spending a lot of time reading up on gardening tips. I am proud of him and thankful for the work and care he's put into our yard.

First few blossoms of the season…Aren't they so pretty?
I love our rose bushes.

The flowers aren't the only things that have been growing. The kids have been blossoming too. Sure, we have our rough days and really really rough days :)
…but they are a JOY to be around.

I can't believe Myla is almost 3. She still loves to draw and paint.
She's become more expressive and talking in complete sentences.
She's LOVES trains and princesses.
And GoGo is still her best friend.

concentrating on her masterpiece…

It's really neat to watch Myla's drawings grow too. Just a few weeks ago, she was only drawing a bunch of lines. Now she's forming faces. How awesome!

And what has our little Chic been up to? Well, Charlotte is 3 months now!
She recently figured out how to flip on to her back. She has been waking up in the middle of the night from startling herself when she rolls over. She's the most joyful person in the house these days…laughing a lot, esp. when being tickled. She's also starting to look a bit more like her daddy. :)

tickle tickle...

Charlotte has been chatting more with Myla Jie Jie,
and Myla Jie Jie still smothers her.
Chatting and smothering occurs at least once every day.

"Don't scream Mei Mei. Be gentle," says the one who screams the loudest and is the least gentle in the family.

Myla, the Photographer

Myla has learned how to use our camera.
It's been neat to see things from her perspective.
Here are some favorites from the many she's taken in the last few months:

Fighting Already?

Myla and Charlotte were having a sweet moment together before bedtime.
"Don't touch Myla Jie Jie. Don't touch people!"

Charlotte Turns 2 Months!

Time is flying by so quickly. Charlotte is now 2 months and sleeping better during the night. THANK GOD. I'm starting to feel more "normal" again…although normal these days varies. :) Charlotte can now smile back and coo. Once in a while, you can get a little giggle out of her. It's so fun. She also has a strong set of lungs like Myla…just not as high pitch. THANK GOD.
