July - August Updates

This summer is flying by so quickly! Myla finished her dance classes. She loved it, but I think she still enjoys her freestyle dancing. Today she lined up three chairs and assigned seats for me, Go-Go, and Gordon to sit and watch as she performed.

We have been home a lot mainly bc it's just insanely HOT outside. Being at home has helped Myla make progress with potty training. I am so proud to say we've been having less accidents and more gummy treats!

Charlotte is now seven months old. She sits up pretty well and is so close to crawling. She currently wiggles and swims her way across the floor whenever we put her down to play. She hated cereal when we first started solids, but she has recently discovered fruits, veggies, baby crackers and puffs, and she LOVES them. She has actually become quite a ferocious eater. It's a little scary sometimes how she eats like she's been starving for days. (I promise I feed her regularly.) She's been sleeping pretty well at night (thank GOD!) and continues to be very accommodating whenever she has to skip a nap or two…or more. Sigh…I guess this is what happens to the the second child.

PICTURE TIME!
This is what happens when I leave Charlotte alone with Myla for just a minute.

Big sis finds this very amusing. I love this pic. :)

CHARLOTTE!

She loves her fingers!

The "I'm concerned" look. This is the baby's most popular face.

Love how she laughs so easily…

Charlotte somehow inched her way under the swing and got stuck.
This happens quite often these days.

7am: myla, my personal human alarm clock climbs into bed while i'm still asleep.
myla: "i take a picture of mama!!!"
me: "NOooooooooooooooooooo"

These days, Myla often takes a while to fall asleep. She wants to walk out of her room and see what we're doing. So we tell her to stay inside and try to talk to God, talk to her go-go or sing. This particular night she sang and it was quite amusing…

Once Upon A Time...

Making up a story with Myla at nap time…

Me: Once upon a time, there was a girl named Princess Myla (it usually starts out this way). And she had a sister named Princess Baby Charlotte (she insists that it's not Princess Charlotte but Princess BABY Charlotte).

She also had lots of friends and played with them all the time.

Well, Princess Myla lived in a…

Myla: house castle!

Me: One day, there was a…

Myla: BIG DRAGON named Daddy Dragon! (this was a first)

Me: Oh really? Well, Daddy Dragon was there at the house castle to…um...PROTECT Princess Myla.

Myla: (upset) NO!! I do THAT all by myself!!

OK…well, EXCUSE ME, Princess Myla!

Photo Booth Fun

O the memories…
I was looking at a bunch of old pictures the other day. Some of my favorite ones were taken on the computer. They bring back memories of Myla's first few months, living with the in laws, and being a CARES Team. And MY how much my Myla has grown. Hopefully we can add new memories of Charlotte into the mix.

Myla, the Photographer II

Here are a few pics Myla took on our camera recently...

love how her foot is in the pic

People usually say M looks like me, but this pic is a great example of why I think she also looks like Gordon. That's a Leung nose and Daddy's pouty lips. :)

Oh…how much those feet move every minute…everyday!
One of the few moments when they are resting still.

The Leungs in JUNE

June is always a busy month for us. We have lots of June birthdays in the family:
Mama Leung 6/4
Ed 6/6
Myla 6/8
Daddy Leung 6/16
Patrick 6/18

Crazy, huh? But it's very exciting. :)
And it means lots of good food, sweets, candles,
and time with loved ones.

Hi Faith!

This year, we also had a huge party for Myla at the park. It was awesome to celebrate with so many people (around 50). Gordon used a grill for the first time. He said it made him feel manly. :) Myla didn't eat much 'cause she was so excited. The only down side was that it was stinkin HOT. We went crazy on the food and had enough to feed all of Sugar Land. Still, people left well fed and happy and that makes me happy. :) Do I have pictures from the party? Of course…not. I was too distracted. I'll try to find some from friends…

trying on mama's glasses

my baby is 3 now…

and she just started her first dance class.

All the girls got to dress up in princess costumes and dance. I'm not sure if she picked this one or the teacher picked it for her. It sure is super lacy and blue…

The teacher played a song that told a story about these princesses and they had to dance it out. There was a part about a troll. Myla got scared and refused to join the group. Here's Miss Melissa trying to reassure and encourage her to participate.

Here's Miss Melissa changing the music. :)

Now she can dance again.

And what has my little chic been up to?

She's almost 6 months. She's sitting up better now.
She's chubby and cheery. :)
She loves to eat.
She likes meeting new friends.
And most of the time, she loves her big sis, except when big sis smothers her.

Looks like Gordon when he's tired & watching tv.
